Our Founders

Dave Barnicle 

Dave has been involved in every aspect of the commercial HVAC industry over his 28-year career. He created and developed the concept of a multi trade special projects group. Special Projects Group is comprised of top sheet metal, pipe fitters, plumbers, service technicians, test and balance technicians, coring, and trucking.  

Prior to forming SPG, Dave built an organization from the ground up to 50+ million annual sales. Dave oversaw over 1200+ jobs annually. He managed a field work force that had 25 journeymen and other support personnel in 26 vans on the street every day.  

Dave has extensive experience in project management, estimating, new construction, design builds, retrofits, equipment change outs, controls, start/ups, and commissioning. He recognizes the customers’ needs, and he always strives to deliver a quality installation safely within the budget and on time.      

Brian Ritchey 

Brian brings 35 years of experience in all aspects of the HVAC industry. Brian has been involved in the installation, service, maintenance and start-up of every major type of mechanical equipment. He specializes in chillers, boilers, variable refrigeration systems, refrigeration, variable frequency drives and building automation systems.  

Beyond his technical skills, Brian has Sales, Project Management, Estimating, and Operations experience to round out his skills. His years in the field have given him a true understanding of how important communication, follow-through and follow-up are. Brian believes that integrity and quality are the most important values when building a relationship with the customer.
